Quote the job before you leave the driveway
A simple quote builder on your phone. Measure, tap in the numbers, and send a priced, branded quote while the customer is still standing there.
Admin time at Black Ice Heating and Cooling after we built them a custom system. This recipe is the do-it-yourself starting point.
Every tradie knows the Sunday night quote pile. You did the site visit on Tuesday, you meant to send the quote Wednesday, and by the time it lands on Sunday the customer has already said yes to someone else.
The fix isn't a $300 a month job management platform. It's a quote builder that knows your prices, runs on your phone, and turns a site visit into a sent quote in about five minutes.
What this recipe does
- Holds your price list, labour rates and margins in one place
- Builds a quote from a few taps on site, with GST worked out for you
- Sends a branded PDF quote by email or text before you drive off
- Logs every quote so you can see what you won and what you didn't
What you get out of it
No more quote pile at night or on the weekend.
Built on tools you already pay for.
The first quote in usually wins.

Ingredients
- Claude (free or Pro)
- Google Sheets
- Your price list
- Your logo
- 45 minutes
Method
- Get your prices out of your head. Open a blank Google Sheet and list every item and labour line you quote for, with cost and sell price. Don't tidy it. Claude will do that next.
- Ask Claude to build the quote page. Paste your sheet into Claude with this prompt. Here is my price list for my [trade] business. Build me a single-page quote builder that works on a phone. I pick items and quantities, it adds labour, adds GST, and shows a total. Keep it simple and use big buttons.
